10 Home Remedies to Soothe Itchy Bug Bites Naturally




People hate bugs, well most people at least. But there is one thing people hate more than just bugs, and that’s a bug that bites. Bed bugs have become a common fear for many people. They tend to find themselves in our most vulnerable of circumstances.

They can cause serious allergic reactions at the spot of the bite. It often hurts the bite victim some time after the bite has occurred. When bit, wash the affected area with a mild antiseptic soap and water, this will help the healing process.















Here are 10 home remedies that can treat bed bug bites quickly and effectively.

1. LEMON JUICE

This juice will help dry out any rashes caused by the bite. It’s also a good anti-inflammatory and antibacterial juice. Use a cotton ball to dab lemon juice on the bite, let this dry on its own. Do this until you see the bite go away.



2. WITCH HAZEL

You can find this in any drugstore. It’s an astringent that helps resolve any skin problems. It also has an anesthetic effect. Use a cotton ball and place it on the bitten area, remove after ten minutes.

3. ICE PACK

Wrap some ice cubes in an ice pack and apply to the bite. This will freeze the bite spot and relieve any itchiness or pain. This is a great way to kill the problem.

4. ALOE VERA GEL

This helps to soothe the bitten area. Also known for its healing properties, Aloe Vera is a very handy product for skin problems. Use an Aloe Vera leaf to scoop out the gel and apply it to your skin.

5. BAKING SODA

This is a great anti-inflammatory that reduces swelling and redness. It also helps neutralize any chemicals from the bite.  Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda and three tablespoons of water. Apply this to the bite for about fifteen minutes. If the pain doesn’t go away, apply the solution again after thirty minutes, then rinse off after each application.

6. CUCUMBER

Cucumbers provide anti-inflammatory benefits to the bitten area. Simply place a piece of cucumber, or the peel, to the bitten area. This will help soothe the itchiness. Continue to apply this for quite some time until the discomfort has stopped.

7. TOOTHPASTE

This will cause a cool effect on the bitten area. Apply this on the bitten area for ten to fifteen minutes. This will allow for the itchiness and irritating feeling to cease.



8. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR

This is an anti-inflammatory product that will help a lot in bed bug cases. Apply the vinegar to the bitten area. Allow the vinegar to dry, and then rinse the vinegar off. Continue to do this if the problem persists.

9. OATMEAL

This delicious food is also an anti-inflammatory. This will help clear up your skin. Mix water with a few tablespoons of oatmeal until it forms a paste. Apply this paste to the bitten area for fifteen minutes before rinsing it off. You can also prepare an oatmeal bath if you please, mix half a cup of colloidal oatmeal to your bath and soak for fifteen minutes.

10. TEA BAGS

This will reduce the itching and swelling. Place a used tea bag in the fridge for thirty minutes. Then place the cold tea bag on the bitten area for fifteen minutes. Continue to do this until you feel it’s not necessary.
